WHAT WE BELIEVE...and what we DON'T BELIEVE...
We believe that the Bible in its entirety is the inspired Word of God and the only infallible and authoritative rule of faith and conduct. (2 Tim. 3:16, 2 Peter 1:26)
We believe in one God eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. As such we are Trinitarian and do not endorse “Jesus only“ teaching. Jesus Christ also was neither created nor merely an angel. Jesus is God, was begotten of the Father, and was God in eternity past. (Matt. 28:19; John 1:1-2; 1 Tim. 3:16; Gen. 1:26; Mic. 5:2; 2 John 1:9)
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal and literal return in power and glory. (1 Tim. 3:16; Acts 1:11; Rom. 8:34)
We believe that salvation is only through repentance from dead works, and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ . Salvation is through the blood of Christ alone and cannot be earned by keeping the law of Moses nor by one's own personal merit. (Rom. 3:20 -22; Gal. 2: 20-21; Titus 3:5; Acts 3;19,4:12; John 14:6)
We believe that the Son of God died to save all men. We do not believe in limited atonement (Jesus died only for the elect). God has given all men a free will to choose life or death and desires all men to be saved. (John 3:17, 4:42; 1 John 2:2, 4:14; 1 Tim. 2:5-6, 4:10, Isaiah 53:6, Heb. 2:9; Rom.8:32)
We believe that salvation can be ultimately lost. A person can forfeit eternal life and bring Christ to an open shame again by refusing to leave sin and refusing to continually walk in repentance. A believer is conditionally eternally secure as long as he remains in Jesus Christ. (Heb. 6:5-8, 10:26-31; 2 Peter 2:20-22; James 5:19-20; 1 Cor.10:12; Luke 15:24)
We believe that the evidence of true salvation (known as being Born Again) is the witness of the Holy Spirit and results in public confession of Christ, as well as a departure from sin in one's life leading to the fruits of repentance. (i.e. quitting immoral behaviour, returning stolen property, ceasing to lie, exhibiting a godly character, etc.) (Rom. 10: 9-13; Matt. 2:8-9; Acts 26:20; Luke 19:8)
We believe under the New Covenant financial giving should be voluntary, generous, and systematic as the led by the Spirit. Tithing is not mandatory. We do not believe in the error of the "Prosperity Gospel" which teaches that all believers should be abundantly rich in this world. The Bible teaches contentment with such things as you have and speaks of both rich Christians who should give and poor Christians who should be helped. (1Cor.16:1-3; 1 Tim.6; 2 Cor.8)
We believe in the Baptism in the Holy Spirit as a second work of grace. This baptism is a greater measure of power given to the born again believer for greater effective witnessing ability. The Holy Spirit sovereignly distributes the gifts of the Spirit. The evidence is power for witnessing and can be manifested through any of the gifts, including tongues. Nevertheless, godly character outshines all the gifts.(Acts 1:5 - 8; 1 Cor.12:1-11, 13)
We believe in the visible and literal Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and uphold historic pre-millennialism that taught only one return of Christ.
We reject the pre-tribulation rapture as false and teach that the church will suffer persecution, even to the point of martyrdom.
We reject the current false manifestation movement that began in the mid-1990's called "Toronto Blessing" and the laughing revival.
We reject the "Prosperity Gospel" and its love of filthy lucre (money) with its foundational doctrines of "Word Faith" theology of speaking things into existence.
We reject the seeker sensitive movement, the using of wordliness to attract the lost, such as rock music, the lack of repentance preaching, the fear of offending people, and other unbiblical methods that are compromising the gospel of Jesus Christ.
We reject the current emergent church movement that falsely unites with the Roman Catholic Church which is a compromise at the cost of truth.
We reject modern translations of the Bible and encourage believers to read the King James Bible.
We reject the teachings of Calvinism (ALL five points)!
